The purpose of the role is to:-

• Ensure the organisation exceeds compliance with relevant HSEQ legislation and standards

• To oversee and ensure workers compensation premiums, claims and injuries are managed in line with documented procedures and support the early return to work of injured employees and cost reductions.

• Oversee quality and safety auditing nationally

About the role
The position is primarily responsible for driving safety, wellbeing, and return to work activities across the organisation, ensuring adherence to our safety and quality management systems, while delivering system enhancements to streamline processes and improved wellness outcomes for our workforce. You will be part of an enthusiastic, committed and customer focused team. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all our customers, and you will build strong relationships with your internal stakeholders.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Coordinate the safety and wellbeing activities across our 7,000+ employees, via state-based safety leads
• drive systems and process improvements focussed on delivering improved safety and wellness outcomes and process efficiencies
• Manage and oversee external Return to Work and Injury Management Providers
• Deliver consolidated and comprehensive reporting in a format appropriate to relevant audiences
• Ensure ongoing compliance to legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as maintaining audit outcomes to ISO standards
• Recommend and deliver improvements and efficiencies to safety and quality management systems
Skills & experience
• HSE/ HSW Experience at a senior level in a blue collar setting
• RTW/ IM/ Claims Management experience desirable
• People management, particularly in a remote work setting
• Significant exposure to interpreting and responding to legislative and regulatory changes as they pertain to Workplace Health & Safety
• Experience in Quality auditing and/ or ISO standards
• Exposure to HSE/ IM Systems development and improvement
