Job Description
RBAC Inc is seeking a Natural Gas, LNG & Energy Transition Data Analyst to perform detailed analytic work in the energy sector. Candidates should have strong quantitative skills, knowledge of North American gas dynamics, and experience with data mining and analysis tools. A bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of data analysis experience are required. The position is remote and offers a salary of $70K–$80K annually.
This position will appeal to individuals who are comfortable with detailed analytic work, have strong quantitative and quality control skills, thrive in a fast-paced team and are interested in achieving results in a rapidly changing and challenging area of the energy industry.
The ideal candidate will possess some understanding of the North American Gas, LNG, and Energy Transition dynamics and the respective fundamental drivers of market prices. Knowledge of the various production basins, imports/exports, markets, infrastructure, competing fuels and pricing relationships a plus.
Basic understanding of gas trading, infrastructure, marketing and development a plus.
Data mining experience with energy industry data desired. Examples include EIA, Criterion Research, Texas Railroad Commission, Pipeline Bulletin Boards, Rystad Energy, etc.
Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint are required. Experience with databases, reporting software and proficiency in any of the following are a major plus: Access, Power BI, SQL, VBA, R, Python, and Tableau.
Strong analytical skills and experience; ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the data required for the creation/maintenance of a natural gas model of infrastructure including natural gas interstate pipelines, intrastate pipelines, natural gas storage as well as tariff rates and fuels associated with them. Natural gas basin and renewable natural gas supply models and forecasts. -Gas demand regression and other demand models and forecasts
• Provide assistance to the Data Analysis team
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Computer science, Finance, or Data Analytics
• 1 - 2 years' Data Analysis experience
