Job Description

CBRE is seeking a Manager of Carbon Accounting in Atlanta, GA, responsible for implementing carbon accounting protocols and ensuring compliance with standards. About the position

The Manager Carbon Accounting at CBRE is responsible for implementing carbon accounting protocols across various business segments and corporate functions. This role involves building partnerships with internal teams and external experts to ensure compliance with leading methodologies and standards in carbon accounting and climate disclosure. The position plays a crucial role in measuring progress towards CBRE's sustainability commitments, particularly in achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2040, and requires a deep understanding of carbon accounting protocols and reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities
• Serve as a subject matter expert for carbon accounting, leading data-driven and science-based calculation methodologies.

• Stay current with changes to accounting protocols and standards, such as the GHG Protocol and ISO Net Zero Guidelines.

• Lead the development of CBRE's GHG inventory in collaboration with operational and functional leaders.

• Conduct a robust data collection process for Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emission categories.
,
• Oversee GHG inventory verification by a third-party.
,
• Perform data quality reviews to identify and correct outliers and gaps.
,
• Maintain CBRE's GHG Inventory Management Plan to reflect current data sources and methodologies.
,
• Collaborate with Corporate Finance to develop and maintain risk control measures for financial-grade reporting.
,
• Leverage technology to improve processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
,
• Lead client GHG emissions allocation process to support account teams.
,
• Prepare carbon accounting reports and dashboards to inform strategic decision-making.
,
• Collaborate with the Director Net Zero to quantify the impact of decarbonization strategies and forecast GHG emissions glidepath.

• Provide data for climate-related disclosures, such as the Corporate Responsibility Report and TCFD.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
