Job Description

The National Environment Agency is seeking a Manager/Assistant Manager for Environmental Public Health Operations in Singapore. The role involves leading a team to manage vector control, sanitation, and public feedback, focusing on reducing vector-borne diseases. Responsibilities include supervising operations, liaising with stakeholders, conducting inspections, and educating the public. [What the role is]**
The Central Regional Office (CRO) is the operational arm of the Environmental Public Health Group and handle a diverse range of environmental public health functions, including vector control, sanitation and public feedback management for the central regions of Singapore.
You will lead and guide a team of officers to keep the vector population low, to minimise the transmission of vector borne diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, malaria, and diseases associated with rodents, flies and cockroaches, with emphasis on tackling rodents. The Manager/Assistant Manager is required to work closely within a team, with other NEA departments as well as other partners and various government agencies/bodies.


[What you will be working on]You Will Be Responsible For The FollowingLead a team of officers to provide vector control operational, administrative, and logistical support to execute both dengue preventive surveillance and dengue outbreak ops.Identify and prioritise areas/hotspots for vector control surveillance.Supervise and deploy vector control officers/workers and outsourced pest control operators to carry out vector control work.Liaise with various stakeholders and relevant agencies (e.g. TC, HDB, NParks) on vector control matters and review their vector control programme.Attend, investigate and resolve feedback from members of public and stakeholders related to public health.Administer training, welfare, uniform, equipment and discipline matters to ensure motivated and effective staff performance.Conduct inspections, enforcement and follow up on enforcement action against owners/occupiers of premises for vector and public health related offences.Prepare and submit reports for MP feedback, media feedback and appeals to management.Prepare and serve Orders to owners/occupiers of high-risk premises.Educate the public on good environmental practices.[What we are looking for]**
