Avaada Energy is seeking a Manager/Sr Manager for Procurement (Electrical) in Renewable Energy, based in Uttar Pradesh, India. The role involves leading procurement for solar power projects, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of electrical systems. Designation: Manager / Sr Manager Procurement (Electrical) Solar

Role Objective:

To lead and manage the procurement and contracts function for electrical systems in Solar Power Projects on a turnkey/EPC basis. The role is responsible for sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, and ensuring timely delivery of electrical packages and materials to support successful project execution within cost, quality, and schedule parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Planning & Strategy

- Develop and implement procurement strategies for solar power projects (EPC/turnkey basis), including associated evacuation systems.
- Manage centralized procurement and contracts for all ongoing solar projects across the organization.
- Ensure alignment of procurement plans with project schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Drive optimization of procurement costs and timelines through strategic sourcing and negotiations.

2. End-to-End Procurement Execution

- Handle complete procurement cycle including floating of enquiries, technical and commercial evaluation, negotiations, and finalization of purchase orders.
- Prepare techno-commercial comparisons, management approval notes, and detailed procurement documentation.
- Issue purchase orders after reviewing material requisitions for accuracy, ensuring competitive pricing, favourable payment terms, and delivery timelines.
- Manage preliminary and detailed negotiations with vendors to secure the most favourable commercial and technical terms.

3. Electrical Procurement (Core Focus)

- Responsible for procurement of electrical equipment and systems for substation and transmission line packages up to 33kV.
- Ensure timely sourcing and delivery of all equipment for turnkey power projects including:
- Breakers, Isolators, CTs, PTs, Lightning Arresters (LAs), Insulators, CRP & SAS systems.
- LT & HT cables, Conductors, Tower material, OPGW, PLCC, and communication equipment.
- Other electrical components used in substations, transmission, and distribution networks (11kV / 33kV).

- Manage vendor development and procurement of substation and transmission line materials in compliance with industry and project specifications.

4. Contracts & Vendor Management

- Manage award and execution of EPC contracts and deployment of contractors for successful project completion.
- Administer and oversee contract performance, including handling of amendments, claims, and extensions.
- Maintain effective relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives in quality, delivery, and pricing.

5. Coordination & Compliance

- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to site.
- Coordinate with Discoms / Electricity Boards for material inspection, testing, and approval processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to company procurement policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

6. Analytical & Communication Skills

- Apply strong analytical skills in material costing, budgeting, and price benchmarking.
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Serve as a key interface between internal teams and external partners, ensuring clarity and transparency in all transactions.

7. Systems & Tools

- Use SAP MM module for procurement processes, vendor data management, and purchase order tracking.
- Prepare and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech (Electrical) MBA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 12-15+ years of experience in Procurement & Contracts (Electrical) for Solar Power Projects or Renewable Energy EPC.

- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of solar project execution, EPC contracts, and electrical procurement.
- Hands-on experience in cost estimation, vendor management, and technical evaluation.
- Knowledge of substation and transmission line materials (11kV / 33kV).

- Tools: Proficiency in SAP MM and MS Office applications.
