The Landfill Engineering Specialist will be a vital member of our team, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our landfill operations. This role offers you the chance to engage in various aspects of landfill operations, regulatory compliance, construction, and environmental management.
• Technical Support: Provide guidance on landfill systems associated with waste disposal sites.
• Compliance Knowledge: Gain familiarity with all permits governing landfill construction and operations to ensure compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with consulting firms to prepare compliance reports and construction documents.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure submissions from consultants meet regulatory standards and operational needs.
• Project Management: Oversee landfill construction contracts, manage materials orders, contractor schedules, and CQA oversight.
• Reporting: Manage the preparation and review of engineering, monitoring, and environmental reports.
• Environmental Oversight: Lead environmental reviews, audits, and inspections with regulators and stakeholders.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with operational teams to set and achieve short and long-term goals.
• Budget Management: Identify site capital needs and include them in the annual budget process.
• Agency Relations: Build constructive relationships with state and local agencies to ensure compliance.
• Waste Management: Review waste profiles for adherence to acceptance plans and coordinate with sales and operations teams.
• Reporting Duties: Complete monthly soil tracking reports and other required status reports.

Qualifications required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• Three to seven years of relevant experience in landfill engineering.
• Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in team settings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skilled in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Adept at analyzing and interpreting complex documents and regulations.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is beneficial.
• Experience with GPS Surveying and/or Drone Surveying is preferred.
