Job Description
Concordis is hiring a Lab Technician 2 in Redmond, WA for a full-time contract position. Responsibilities include managing hardware distribution of PCBAs and devices, updating databases, and firmware on prototypes. Candidates should have strong organizational skills, experience with SW/FW imaging, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Benefits include matching 401(k), medical, dental, and PTO. We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our team that is developing next generation consumer electronic devices.
Responsibilities:
• HW DISTRIBUTION.
• Receive, sort, categorize and distribute highly confidential PCBAs and Test/Development devices out to teams within as well as external to Surface. This role requires working within our TFS database to update, modify or add device-specific information for cradle-to-grave tracking purposes. This person will be working with Build/Release PMs on our team as well as HW/SW engineers. Reading and interpreting codes that define the configuration of received devices and working with Excel are also daily activities.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Managing a library of devices for assignment to various engineering research groups.
• Creating SW imaging keys for updating prototype devices to specific SW builds.
• The person in this role will also update firmware on prototype devices using debug boards and Jtag modules.
• This is an extremely fast-paced environment where multiple tasks need to be handled simultaneously.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this role will be required to have the following skills:
1) Ability to correctly prioritize tasks with capacity to quickly redirect focus if task priorities change.
2) Very strong organizational, verbal and written skills. Excellent communication ability is paramount for this role.
3) Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
4) Database, and spreadsheet skills needed.
5) Experience in SW/FW imaging and ability to run scripts preferred.
• 5 or more years military or related experience will be considered.
• Excellent hand soldering skills and fine pitch surface mount rework ability.
• The ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and datasheets for electrical and mechanical specifications.
• The ability to assemble prototype electronics.
• Experience testing and debugging assemblies.
• Experience with lab test equipment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based computers.
• Experience supporting HWSW engineers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Education: AA in Electronics or better.
