Job Description
EVARA E-bikes LTD is seeking an experienced E-Bike Electrical Technician for their workshop in London. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in e-bikes, testing battery packs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong DC electrical knowledge, and good communication skills. This is a full-time, in-person position with a competitive salary of £38,700.
About Us: Evara E-Bikes is a specialist electric bicycle retailer, repair centre, and service workshop based in West Ealing, London. We sell, service, and repair e-bikes from leading brands including Hidoes, G-Force, Starfly, and Koolux. Our workshop handles everything from routine servicing to complex electrical fault diagnostics and battery management system repairs.
The Role: We are looking for an experienced E-Bike Electrical Technician to join our growing workshop team. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in electric bicycles, including motor controllers, battery management systems (BMS), wiring looms, and display/sensor units.
Key Duties:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in e-bike motors, controllers, and battery systems
Test and calibrate lithium-ion battery packs using diagnostic equipment
Install, configure, and program motor controllers and display units
Carry out PAT testing and electrical safety checks on completed repairs
Read and interpret wiring diagrams and circuit schematics for various e-bike brands
Maintain accurate repair records and parts inventory logs
Liaise with customers on repair timelines and technical queries
Ensure all repairs comply with EN 15194 and relevant UK electrical safety standards
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical repair, diagnostics, or a related technical field
Strong understanding of DC electrical systems, motor controllers, and lithium-ion battery technology
Ability to use diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, CAN-BUS readers)
Familiarity with soldering, crimping, and wiring techniques
Good communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical customers
Right to work in the UK (sponsorship may be available for the right candidate)
Desirable:
Experience specifically with e-bike or electric vehicle systems
Knowledge of EN 15194:2017 compliance standards
Cytech or equivalent cycling industry certification
Experience with BMS programming and firmware updates
