Invasive Weed Technician/Sprayer

We here at Grounds Care Group, Japanese Knotweed Specialists Department have a great opportunity for a full time Invasive Weed Technician to join our busy but friendly team. We are offering a competitive salary of £28,000 to £30,000 per annum (dependent upon skills & experience), on a permanent contract.

About Grounds Care Group

We carry out Japanese Knotweed Treatments, Grounds Maintenance, Landscape Improvement Works, Bulk Waste Removal, Grounds Maintenance, Gritting/Snow Clearance and Winter Maintenance Services for our multiple Clients across the UK.

The Role:

We are recruiting for an Invasive Weed Technician/Sprayer, working predominantly in the London and Home Counties, travelling, and working on pre-booked jobs, visiting multiple locations in a day. Travel to areas further afield may be required but will be agreed in advance.

Job Outline:

Applying herbicide using a knapsack sprayer to Japanese knotweed and other invasive weeds throughout the growing season (May-October) at residential properties, commercial sites, and some open areas of land. Documenting work carried out at each site using our mobile app, whilst following our standard operating procedures. Carrying out Japanese Knotweed winter visits (cutting & mulching) during the winter months, in preparation for the growing season. Assisting with excavation works (Japanese Knotweed & Bamboo), landscaping works and other related works as and when required. Good communication is essential, daily interaction with our operational team, other internal teams and suppliers will be required, along with the ability to provide excellent customer service on site, whilst maintaining and enhancing the company’s reputation.

Key skills:

Weed spraying and previous knowledge of Japanese knotweed and other invasive plantsDynamic and able to move with the times within a fast-paced growing company.
