Job Description
Sustainable Resources Center is hiring an Interim Energy Efficiency Administrative Assistant in Minneapolis, MN, until May 31, 2025. The role involves responding to client inquiries, data entry, maintaining files, and processing applications for energy efficiency services. Candidates should be detail-oriented and comfortable with phone communication. The position is temporary, pays $20/hour, and requires working at the SRC office during weekdays.
Sustainable Resources Center (SRC) is a Minnesota nonprofit company running the largest deep energy efficiency and decarbonization retrofit program for low-income residents in the state. SRC substantially increases the energy efficiency of hundreds of homes each year by conducting highly technical energy assessments and then sealing and re-insulating the building shell, swapping out inefficient furnaces, lighting & appliances and adding solar PV, all at no cost to qualified residents. This allows disadvantaged populations to live in homes that have lower energy costs, produce less ghg emissions, are more comfortable, reduce occupant health hazards, all while improving community resilience and equity.
SRC seeks an Administrative Assistant to fill an interim role in the energy efficiency/weatherization department. The role is temporary and runs until May 31, 2025. There may be an opportunity to be considered for full-time permanent work in June. The primary goal of the position is to follow up on client inquiries about SRC’s energy services.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
· Return a significant number of phone calls from people with questions about the energy department and its programs, as well as field questions and concerns from current clients (this may be the majority of the work performed)
· Enter data into a computer from various sources including accounting, statistical and related documents; making corrections and updates; verifying data for accuracy and completeness; assisting in the compilation of reports, and maintaining routine informational spreadsheets
· Collect and process applications and program files, including entering program information into an automated system, compiling client information, and maintaining weatherization forms
· Create and send outreach mailings for energy programs
· Maintain files, and research records for various information as requested
· Process documents and forms including general correspondence, reports, schedules, and memoranda from rough draft or verbal instruction
· Special projects and related weatherization duties under the direction of a supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Comfortable returning phone calls from residents interested in SRC’s free energy efficiency services
- Possesses patience with callers and enjoys educating them about services that can be provided
- Detail-oriented
- An energetic self-starter who is comfortable working independently as well with teammates
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is a temporary position. Pay is $20/hour. Between 30 hours and 40 hours per week is expected to be worked which can be mutually determined by the person hired and the supervisor. Because this is a temporary position, the position does not qualify for benefits other than Minnesota state-required Earned Sick and Safe Time. As a result, the person hired can arrange to take unpaid time off for vacation, holiday, illness, etc. All work to be conducted weekdays during general business hours, and at the SRC office in Minneapolis. The candidate will report to SRC’s Energy Programs Director.
