About the position

The University of South Carolina's School of the Earth, Ocean & Environment is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Environmental Science for a 9-month appointment starting August 16, 2025. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses, particularly introductory environmental science for non-science majors and specialized courses for SEOE majors. The ideal candidate will employ innovative and interdisciplinary teaching methods to enhance the curriculum and engage students effectively.

Responsibilities
• Teach 4 undergraduate courses per semester, including introductory environmental science courses and specialized courses in the candidate's area of expertise.

• Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.

• Collaborate with faculty to strengthen and diversify the course offerings within the School of the Earth, Ocean & Environment.

• Provide academic support and mentorship to students in the Environmental Science program.

Requirements
• A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field is required at the time of appointment (ABD candidates will be considered).

• Demonstrated experience in teaching at the university level, particularly in environmental science or related disciplines.
