Impact Manager- Retrofit & Energy efficiency (12 months fixed term)
Join us at Built Environment – Smarter Transportation (BE-ST) as an Impact Manager to play a crucial part in our mission to accelerate the built environment’s transition to zero carbon emissions.
As BE‑ST moves into its infrastructure investment and growth phase, we’re looking for someone with strong business & commercial development, collaboration and project management experience to help shape and deliver high‑impact programmes across the built environment ecosystem.
The Role
At BE‑ST, collaboration is everything. You’ll play a key role in creating new communities and partnerships that unite the right people, skills and ideas to achieve meaningful change across the sector.
You’ll:
Proactively identify, shape and develop new opportunities across existing and emerging sectors within the built environmentSupport the delivery of complex, multi‑partner innovation projects, ensuring strong collaboration, compliance and high‑quality outcomesContribute to BE‑ST’s business and bid development strategy, including preparing funding and commercial bidsAct as a trusted point of contact for businesses, helping them collaborate, innovate and access funding to improve competitiveness and drive impactBuild and grow networks that bring together industry, academia, government and skills providersKeep a close eye on future trends, technologies and funding opportunities to position BE‑ST ahead of the curveYou’ll be a crucial part of our next phase at BE-ST, proactively identifying, shaping and developing new opportunities. You’ll identify new sectors for opportunities for growth, exploring how we tap into these to stand out from the crowd.
At BE-ST, we collaborate across the entire built environment ecosystem, bringing together world-class academia, government bodies and industry at all levels to accelerate the transition to zero carbon. You’ll play a key role in seizing new opportunities, creating new networks and groups to unite the best knowledge, skills, tools, and people who want to achieve a more sustainable sector.
You’ll join a culture of transformation, growing our connected ecosystem to work on collaboration innovation projects which make an impact.
To help us continue to help the sector unlock its potential to find a way forward, you’ll always be keeping an eye on what’s coming through future scanning.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a confident, proactive professional with:
A business development or innovation support background, and a strong track record of building collaborationsKnowledge and experience of energy, clean heat and retrofit initiativesExperience working closely with businesses in or around the built environmentStrong project management skills, ideally delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder programmesExcellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholdersA good understanding of the construction and built environment sector, both strategically and operationallyExperience of bid writing or funding applications (desirable)What’s in it for you?
Salary: £46,049 - £58,225 per annum (depending on experience)
