Description

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an expert in operational technology to provide consulting services for utility clients. The selected candidate will join the Enterprise System & Integration team, which focuses on delivering high-value solutions through leading technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong business and technology acumen in electric utility operations.

The system architect shall design and implement advanced distribution management systems (ADMS), distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS), and IEC-61850 enabled digital substations. They will also develop battery energy storage systems (BESS) and associated enabling networks, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and field area networks (FAN).

This role is responsible for ensuring the execution of various solutions and offerings for client engagements. The system architect will lead the development of solutions and architecture services to deliver enterprise-quality solutions to our clients in support of technology, process, and application solutions.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions to support complex business requirements.
• Design and develop ADMS, DERMS, and IEC-61850 enabled digital substations.
• Develop BESS and associated enabling networks.
• Ensure solution quality and adherence to company standards.
• Mentor less experienced staff and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Evaluate delivery processes and make improvements to facilitate the best possible customer experience.
• Build effective relationships with clients and contractors.
• Provide strategic guidance and road mapping to clients.
