About the position

The IC&E Technician at DTE Biomass Energy is responsible for maintaining and operating gas processing facilities that convert raw biogas into renewable natural gas. This role involves executing maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The technician will work at two landfill sites in Texas, contributing to a rapidly growing business line with opportunities for future promotion.

Responsibilities
• Execute maintenance on compressors and pipelines.

• Conduct electrical troubleshooting and create operational reports.
,
• Safely operate a renewable natural gas processing plant while maximizing profitability.
,
• Utilize the Computer Managed Maintenance System to schedule and track maintenance activities.
,
• Calibrate, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and install power plant instrumentation and control systems.
,
• Perform maintenance on motor control centers and motor-operated valves.
,
• Design and install new equipment or system modifications.
,
• Troubleshoot and maintain DC backup power equipment and programmable logic controls (PLC).
,
• Schedule and monitor contractors for specific tasks.
,
• Identify safety hazards and recommend solutions.
,
• Follow environmental compliance work practices and assist in implementing solutions.
,
• Train team members in instrumentation, control, and electrical systems.
,
• Perform housekeeping assignments and equipment safety inspections.
,
• Participate in small construction projects and read technical drawings.
,
• Order parts as needed for maintenance and repair.

Requirements
• High school diploma or GED.
,
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
,
• 5+ years of industrial experience or electrician experience with skill advancement.
,
• Solid background in instrumentation and controls, including flow meters, control valves, and PLCs.

• Understanding of OSHA requirements and safety culture.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with gas chromatographs and VFDs.

• Knowledge of environmental compliance practices.
