Hydrologist

Job Summary: This person will be responsible for coordinating and leading comprehensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic design projects with our Project Managers on both public and private projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Superior hydrology capabilities including: Clearly define and facilitate the hydrology project scope, goals and deliverables to project managers Proficient in preparation of various submittals to FEMA Ability to perform hydrologic/hydraulic modelling using the latest software accepted by FEMA and USACE such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS, HPSWMM, Civil3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS. Accountable for the delivery of assigned hydrology projects from conception to completion Review all plans, specifications, and work product before submittal to the client or any public entity Ensure accurate, complete and timely communication to Project Managers Has knowledge and continues to keep knowledge current as to commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry Oversee and manage a team of hydrologists, technicians, analysts, and professionals including mentoring and training of young engineers

Qualifications and Skills:
Frequent communication with project managers Answer phone calls and emails preferably within the same day but no more than 24 hours after receipt Setting an example through prompt arrival time to work and meetings; on time submission of time cards and billing Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time Able to set internal deadlines and meet client deadlines Team building skills and ability to work in a team environment for project collaboration Manage staff through project assignments, professional development and skills development
