Job Description
Jacobs is seeking a Head of Sustainability in Montreal, Canada, to lead the development and implementation of sustainability strategies for infrastructure projects. The role involves integrating ESG principles, establishing KPIs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and conducting life cycle assessments. Candidates should have a relevant degree, at least five years of experience in managing sustainability initiatives, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. A passion for sustainability and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Based out of Montreal, you’ll have the opportunity to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to contribute directly to all phases of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects. This position is full-time. Bring your enthusiasm for learning and desire to work with a multi-disciplinary team of technical experts, and we’ll help you grow!
Responsibilities of the Role:
• Develop and implement the sustainability strategy including the net zero roadmap that outlines strategies to achieve sustainability goals and key performance indicators.
• Drive the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into delivery.
• Work with the client to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and track progress towards the Project Outcomes.
• Ensure sustainability strategies comply with the latest regulatory and global best practice standards.
• Responsible for project deliverables and outcomes such as building performance calculations (e.g. energy and water consumption, outdoor air supply) and summary reports.
• Perform appropriate Life Cycle Assessment analysis reports, and climate resilience study reports to inform design progression and options.
• Identify and mitigate sustainability-related risks, ensuring the project’s resilience and long-term viability.

• Bachelor's degree in environment, sustainability, related field or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum of five years applicable experience
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale sustainability projects and initiatives from concept to implementation, ideally in infrastructure
• In-depth understanding of sustainability principles, ESG frameworks, and relevant regulations
• Experience in working across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
• A genuine passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental and social impact
• Bi-lingual is an asset
• Must have driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
• Experience in a variety of project delivery models considered an asset
• Experience working in a developed or built-up environment
