Job Description
Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Data Management Specialist in Kansas City, MO. The role involves delivering technical solutions using EQuIS, managing project data, and developing data management competencies. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and experience in environmental consulting and data management. Strong communication and multitasking skills are essential. The position is hybrid, indicating some in-office presence is required.
As an Environmental Data Management Specialist, you’ll deliver complex technical solutions applying your environmental data understanding and EQuIS experience. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills, the ability to balance work on multiple tasks, and an enthusiasm for learning and troubleshooting. Our Environmental Data Management Specialists:
• Learn to implement EQuIS data management solutions with the support of data management leadership and EQuIS subject matter experts.
• Contribute to project data management, including data tracking, data loading, and data delivery.
• Learn and follow our data management best practices.
• Develop the competency to work on all phases of data management in EQuIS.
• Work in a dynamic team environment with data managers, scientists, planners, engineers, and technologists.
• Further develop the attributes of a strong consultant (team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter that takes initiative, versatile, and has a client service mentality).
• Develop and implement project plans and work assignments, and ensure product quality on schedule, on budget, and safely.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Engineering, or directly related discipline.
• 2+ years of environmental consulting experience
• 1+ years of experience in environmental remediation field work
• 1+ years of data management experience, preferably using EQuIS software with knowledge of EQuIS modules, including Professional, EDP, SPM, Collect, and Enterprise.
• Some experience with database or programming platforms (for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, HTML, JSON, Java/JavaScript, Python, R, or similar).
• Understanding of digital workflows ranging from project planning, mobile data collection, database management, data analysis, and data visualization
Ideally, highly qualified applicants will have:
• 10+ years of experience in environmental data management, chemistry, analytical data validation, groundwater modeling, data analysis, and/or visualization.
• With 5 + years of data management experience, using EQuIS software with knowledge of EQuIS modules including Professional, EDP, SPM, Collect, and Enterprise.
• Experience with environmental software implementations in a consulting/industrial environment.
• Experience with designing or automating digital workflows ranging from project planning, mobile data collection and data engineering to data warehousing, database management, data analysis, and data visualization.
