Overview / Responsibilities
Wood's Central Gulf Coast Region is seeking a highly talented business development professional with an established track record of working with State, Local, and Governmental entities in the areas of Program Management, Sustainability, Grant Administration/Management, and Disaster Recovery. The successful candidate will have a background specific to assisting government municipalities with designing and implementing various programs and a general knowledge of the hazard mitigation and disaster recovery framework established at the federal, state and local levels. Additionally, the successful candidate needs to understand how to work with governmental municipalities to boost their understanding of how the hazard mitigation and disaster recovery process works as to better align regional business development opportunities that may surface upon disaster occurrences.
The successful candidate will also be capable of cross-selling Wood services in addition to leading business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and serving as a project director on other project initiatives. One of the major objectives to achieve is to assist new and existing clients with developing a hazard mitigation or disaster recovery strategy prior to a disaster occurring. The successful candidate would assist the OM and RSLs with this effort.
Proficiency will depend on strong communication skills, a working knowledge of the hazard mitigation or disaster recovery programmatic and funding framework, and experience associated with managing programs and/or projects at the government levels or on behalf of government entities. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide strong and confident leadership in client relationship development and management Cross-sell services to potentially materialize into additional business Assist with project pursuit leadership and management Financial management of a portfolio of projects and programs Assist with strategic planning to meet fiscal goals and objectives Assist with building and developing teams to win and deliver projects Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas with peers and regional/national management teams Assist in creating strategic partnerships prior to actual pursuits Support Wood's recruiting program to support early career hires (0-5 years of experience)
Skills / QualificationsMinimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience 15+ years of experience leading business development by planning, defining and growing a market General understanding of the federal, state and local disaster recovery framework Ability to effectively interact with government officials Ability to work with government leadership and local community stakeholders to design localized disaster recovery strategies that are specific to the geography and disaster occurrence Understanding of the major players nationwide that operate in the disaster recovery space A working knowledge of disaster recovery programs and funding opportunities Ability to cross-sell service offerings Strong written and verbal Wood skills Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
