Due to our continued growth, we are currently looking to add Habitat Restoration Field Technicians to our Oakland, California location. Specialized field crews are created to complete specific tasks such as plant propagation, plant salvage, plant translocation, herbicide application and weeding.

The job duties and skills for Habitat Restoration Field Technician include:

• Planting, hand weeding, trash clearing, raking, salvaging of plant material trenching and erosion control, hauling rocks, and any other miscellaneous construction work.

• Will be applying herbicide in wildland applications.

• Must be able to stoop, stand and bend for extended periods of time and work on uneven and/or difficult terrain in environments of fluctuating temperatures.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to use required equipment such as line trimmers, spray equipment, etc.

• Knowledge of California native plants is highly desirable although not required (training will be provided to applicants willing and eager to acquire plant identification skills).

• Must represent RECON in a positive manner while ensuring our client’s needs are being met.

Salary: $20.00 per hour. Work schedule is four (4), 10-hour workdays (Monday – Thursday). On occasion may be required to work on Fridays.
