With a strong presence in Australia, the company focuses on the development, construction, and operation of cutting-edge renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
As part of this forward-thinking organisation, the Grid & Power Systems Engineer will contribute to the development and operation of renewable energy projects that support the integration of renewable generation and storage systems into the Australian energy grid. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most significant renewable energy projects in the country.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and optimise grid connection solutions for large-scale renewable generation and storage assets, including solar, wind, and battery storage systems.
• Perform power systems analysis and simulation to assess and improve grid integration, stability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical expertise in renewable energy technologies, grid operations, and energy storage solutions.
• Manage and execute grid connection studies, including power flow analysis, fault studies, and dynamic simulation.
• Develop detailed technical reports and documentation, providing clear recommendations for grid integration and optimisation.
• Stay informed about the latest industry trends, standards, and regulations related to renewable energy, grid integration, and energy storage.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of power systems and grid integration.
• Proven experience in grid and power systems engineering within the renewable energy sector, ideally with experience in energy storage and generation projects.
• Strong knowledge of power systems analysis tools (e.g., PSS®E, PowerFactory, PSCAD) and grid connection processes.
• Expertise in renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, and battery storage systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive, solutions-driven approach with a strong focus on delivering results and driving innovation.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
• Experience with large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia.
• Familiarity with the National Electricity Market (NEM) and regulatory requirements for grid integration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving project performance and efficiency.
