About the position

The Greenhouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and performing preventative maintenance on climate control systems, greenhouse structures, and other greenhouse equipment. This role involves finding technical solutions to improve daily operations, monitoring growing conditions, and ensuring the successful growth of plants. The technician will also be required to perform tasks outside normal working hours, such as irrigating crops and pest control, which are compensated accordingly.

Responsibilities
• Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on climate control systems, greenhouse structures, and equipment.

• Find technical solutions and improvements in daily work throughout greenhouses and the facility.

• Execute greenhouse tasks in cooperation with internal customers to support the creation of new varieties.
,
• Drive pickup trucks, cars, and forklifts safely.
,
• Use power tools and field equipment safely for maintenance and repairs in the greenhouse.
,
• Obtain a pesticide private applicator license and spray pesticide with a respirator.
,
• Monitor growing conditions such as fertigation, lighting, pests, and other environmental factors.
,
• Responsible for operational work in greenhouses and hardening houses to grow healthy plants.
,
• Use modern computer systems for irrigation, climate control, and operational administration.
,
• Carry out basic steps of standard operating procedures independently.
,
• Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of basic irrigation systems.

Requirements
• At least 1 year of experience maintaining a greenhouse or working in ag maintenance/construction troubleshooting equipment.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to learn new greenhouse management systems.
,
• Valid driver's license and current state-required minimum vehicle insurance coverage.

• High School diploma or GED required.
