Green Building Inspector

Swiftsure Energy Services is hiring a Green Building Inspector in Washington, DC. The role requires HERS certification or Resnet Field Inspector (RFI) qualification, with responsibilities including energy audits and building inspections. Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $45.00/hr

Immediate opportunity for a Green Building Inspector with their HERS certification or Resnet Field Inspector (RFI). Job includes conducting building envelope, blower door, duct testing, HERS Ratings, Energy Audits, Green Certification Inspections, and additional duties as required.

We will send the right individual for training to obtain their HERS Rater Certification. Must be detail-oriented with at least 3 years of construction experience. Car, Laptop, and all equipment to do HERS inspections will be provided.

This position is based in Seattle and Vancouver/Portland WA. No relocation is provided at this time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 to $45/hour depending on skills and experience.

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Health insurance is available after 120 days of successful employment.
Requirements:
• At least 3 years of Construction, building science and energy related experience are preferred. We will train the right individual.
• Include a cover letter with your resume to show you are willing to put in the work to become a HERS Rater.
• Construction background - minimum 2 years experience
• Building code knowledge or familiarity with various codes
• Camera/Picture Documentation
• Ability to use a computer and have familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word. Google Calendar, AXIS. Software is used daily
• Able to work in confined spaces typically found in attics and other uncomfortable spaces (basements and crawl spaces) which will require being able to climb, balance, kneel, crawl, and lift.
• Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to work on ladders (up to 30’)
• Must be able to frequently lift and move 40 pounds unassisted
• Must be personable, well-groomed, and have the expert ability to effectively communicate with other disciplines or groups and resolve schedule conflicts
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend technical instructions enough to be able to convey technical information in plain language
• Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
• Must be organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and dependable
• Must have excellent reporting skills, attention to detail, deadline-oriented, data entry management, and time management skills
• Must have General Math Skills
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License in good standing with an insurable driving record
• Must be able to complete a Pre-employment Background Check/Drug Testing
• Must be willing to obtain additional certifications/licenses as required including RESNET HERS Rater Certification
• Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
• License/Certification: Drivers License (Required), RFI of HERS Rater Certification
• Legally able to work in the United States
• Willingness to travel: 75% (Required)
