About Thryve.
Earth
We are building a tech-enabled platform to seed and develop an order of magnitude more nature based carbon projects, delivering significant GHG positive outcomes and co-benefits in the long run. Our team comprises carbon specialists, scientists, product leaders, engineers, and business professionals. We are united by our love for nature and our commitment to learning and growth. We are venture-backed and in the process of expanding on our foundational team.
Position Overview
We are seeking a collaborative and mission-aligned Grant Writer to help secure funding for our nature-based climate solutions. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to craft compelling proposals, concept notes, and donor communications that reflect the impact of our work and the strength of our partnerships.
We're looking for someone who can translate complex projects into clear, persuasive narratives — and who is excited to contribute to a growing, purpose-driven team working to regenerate ecosystems and uplift local communities.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Writing & Proposal Development
Craft clear, compelling, and mission-aligned grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and reports for philanthropic foundations, governments, development agencies, corporates and impact investors.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (forestry, community engagement, tech, operations, leadership) to co-develop content that reflects field realities and organizational goals.
Tailor proposals to diverse audiences — translating technical detail into engaging, outcomes-driven narratives.
Grant Research & Strategic Fit
Identify and evaluate grant opportunities aligned with our project portfolio in nature-based solutions, carbon markets, forestry, and community development.
Maintain a pipeline of open calls, recurring grants, and strategic funding windows — and advise the team on potential partnerships or alignment opportunities.
Impact Framing & Budget Collaboration
Work with our monitoring and evaluation team to integrate relevant impact indicators, frameworks, and learning approaches into proposals.
Liaise with finance and program leads to ensure budgets, deliverables, and timelines align with funder requirements.
Relationship-Building & Stewardship
Support follow-ups, coordination, and funder communications to ensure transparency and accountability.
Assist in building long-term funder relationships, maintaining a tone of integrity, warmth, and shared mission.
Knowledge Management
Organize and maintain a repository of successful proposals, templates, and funder information.
Contribute to refining our internal tools and systems for managing grants and fundraising workflows.
Qualifications & Skills
2–5+ years of grant writing experience , preferably in carbon markets, climate, sustainability, environmental justice, or international development.
Proven track record of securing grants from major philanthropic foundations, government agencies, or corporates.
Strong research, writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Ability to absorb technical content (e.g., carbon methodologies, landscape restoration models) and turn it into audience-appropriate proposals.
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
Experience coordinating across teams and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Good to have:
Familiarity with climate finance, voluntary carbon markets, or forestry.
Experience in co-designing programs with local communities or field-based organizations.
Commitment to Diversity
Thryve values applications from everyone. We draw strength and inspiration from diversity, equity, and belonging. We are building a company that reflects a regenerative world – one that has a place for each person. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
