The Chemours Company is hiring a Global Business EHS & Operations Sustainability Leader to oversee EHS governance and sustainability initiatives at their Wilmington, Delaware headquarters. The role involves engaging with site leadership, developing EH&S strategies, and implementing best practices for continuous improvement. Candidates will work closely with operations teams and participate in community interactions, ensuring compliance and driving business value through sustainability efforts.

Chemours is seeking a Global Business EHS & Operations Sustainability Leader to join our growing Operations team. This position will be available at the Chemours Headquarters at 1007 N Market Street in Wilmington, Delaware and report directly to the Global Operations Vice President, APM. This position is eligible for location at an APM manufacturing site as well.

This role leads business EHS & Operations Sustainability governance, monitoring leading and lagging indicators, audit findings and recommendations, regulatory reporting, compliance, and developing business-specific plans for continuous improvement, including Corporate Responsibility goals. The successful candidate will partner with site leadership (Plant Managers, EHS resources/teams) – bringing valued advice, coaching and assistance.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provides high quality, felt leadership to all Advanced Performance Materials Operations by intense site engagement, including field & EHS systems auditing.
• Identifies and sometimes leads the execution of opportunities to simplify processes and deliver business value.
• Develops business EH&S strategy and objectives with alignment of business leadership team, sites and Enterprise EHS & Operations Sustainability strategy.
• Ensures appropriate MOC-P for site EHS resources; coaches and mentors site resources, and provides input into the Enterprise EHS talent management process.
• Provides local EHS & Sustainability community support and leadership, including representing/supporting Chemours at community interactions.
• Drives implementation of best practices to the sites – looking for opportunities to streamline, standardize and simplify, both within the business, and where appropriate across the Enterprise.
• Ensures that learnings from incidents across the Enterprise are understood and where appropriate, actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
• Participates as a full member of both the business operations leadership team (OLT) and the EHS Council, transparently moving information back and forth between the two.
• Receives business direction on role from Operations Vice President and functional direction from EHS & Corporate Responsibility Vice Presidents.
• Serves as a full partner and actively participates in sensing for current and future business needs and communicates needs assertively back to the EHS and Business Leadership.
• Business EHS resource & coach to HTM SGCs (Safety Guardian Committees).
• Assists sites with incident investigation, injury, illness and incident classifications, issue resolution, agency interactions, etc.

The Following Is Required For This Role
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in Industrial Manufacturing.
• Personal Leadership: Ability to take initiative, self-manage, identify what is needed and take effective action to bring about change and lead/implement change.
• Implementation: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, achieve results on time and influence/negotiate with others at various levels of the organization.
• Networking/Team Building: Ability to work closely with site teams, facilitate discussions, work effectively with others to address complex tasks, interact with other subject matter experts to maximize results and to receive varied inputs and build alignment.
• Clear Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with written and verbal communication up and down the organization structure.
• Able to travel as needed, up to 30%.

The Following Is Preferred For This Role
• 10+ years’ experience in High Hazard Industrial Chemical Manufacturing.
• Demonstrated business acumen.
• Business Direction: The ability to foresee and anticipate problems and make appropriate adjustments.
• Good to excellent technical background with independent thinking attributes and/or in-depth technical expertise.

$141,120.00 - $220,500.00

Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
