Job Description

Intec Energy Solutions is seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer in Manila, Philippines. The role requires a licensed engineer with at least 5 years of experience in geotechnical design, particularly in renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include conducting geotechnical analyses, preparing reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in geotechnical software and knowledge of relevant codes is essential. This is a permanent position based in the Philippines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed/Registered Geotechnical Engineer or equivalent certification (preferred
• ) Minimum 5 years Geotechnical Design, investigation, and analysis experience preferably in power industry, renewable energy, Solar PV, and/or BESS projects
• . Knowledge of local and international geotechnical codes and standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, ASTM, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocode, AU-NZ standards, IBC) and international standards is plu
• s Proficiency or sound knowledge in geotechnical software such as Autodesk, AutoCAD, Plaxis, Geo Studio, Rocscience, GEO5, gINT, Settle3D, LPILE and other relevant softwares is an advantag
• e Experience in geotechnical site investigations, soil testing, foundation design, and geotechnical analyse
• s Proficient in soil-structure interactions and foundation design including shallow and deep foundation
• s Proficient in preparing geotechnical design calculations, soil reports, and foundation design recommendations
• . Experience in slope stability analysis, ground improvement methods, and retaining structure desig
• n Experience in evaluating client RFPs and contributing to the preparation of tender documents for geotechnical works
• . Ability to prepare cost estimates, BOQs, and material take-offs for geotechnical components of project
• s Knowledgeable in construction methodologies/techniques and health and safety standard in diverse geographical and climatic condition
• s Working knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and sustainable design principle

JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform geotechnical engineering tasks assigned by the Civil Structural Manager/Lead Design Engineer including geotechnical analysis, calculation, design, verification or desktop studies for the development of Solar/BESS and other renewable energy project
• s Evaluate and review soil data, subsurface conditions, and testing reports from geotechnical investigations for renewable energy infrastructure projects and prepare geotechnical interpretative reports/recommendation
• s Prepare and review geotechnical reports and soil investigation reports, ensuring they meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
• . Identify potential geotechnical risks and hazards related to ground conditions and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure project safety and compliance
• . Develop foundation designs, geotechnical design calculations, and recommendations for earthworks and site grading for solar farm and BESS site
• s Collaborate effectively with structural and civil teams to support integrated design solutions into the overall project development proces
• s Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and other natural conditions using geotechnical principles
• . With ability conduct site investigations including drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing
• . Produce geotechnical reports and recommendations based on site data
• . Design foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, and slope stability solutions
• . Use software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar for 2D/3D modelling and analysis
• . Interpret geological maps, borehole logs, and aerial imagery for design input
• . Provide support during construction, including on-site inspection and troubleshooting
• . Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and risk assessments
• . Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, material take-offs, and Bill of Quantities (BoQs) for geotechnical works
• . Evaluate client requests for proposals (RFPs), assist in the preparation of tender documents, and support cost estimation for geotechnical works
• . Provide geotechnical input during the design, construction, and commissioning stages of solar, storage, and renewable energy infrastructure
• . Conduct geotechnical risk assessments related to soil stability, seismic hazards, and flood risks, recommending mitigation measures where necessary
• . Evaluate site conditions to determine the most suitable geotechnical solutions for foundation systems, including shallow foundations, deep foundations, and ground improvement technique
• s Attend meetings with clients, engineering team, and project stakeholder
• s Developing detailed layouts and geotechnical design packages that meet all contractual, code, and permitting requirement
• s Developing technical specifications and scopes of work for subcontracting engineering firms and contracto
• r In line with the growth targets of the company to develop the strategies that are created, to contribute and support the long-term success and sustainability of the compan
• y Prepares meeting minutes and maintains accurate technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and design packages, for both internal and external use within INTE
• C Preparation & communication of scope of work for external structural companies/engineer
• s Ensure that geotechnical design reports and deliverables are complete and align with the scope of work, while evaluating and optimizing designs and proposals from external companies/clients and stakeholders during the tender phase
