Job Description

Oracle Environmental Experts is seeking an experienced Geo-Environmental Consultant for their Malvern office in Worcester, UK. The role involves conducting geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments, requiring over 2 years of relevant experience and a degree in a related field. The position includes fieldwork, report writing, and travel across the UK. While primarily office-based, there is flexibility to work from home when not on site.
Oracle Environmental Experts Ltd is an independent company specialising in soil and groundwater remediation and spill response. The company was founded in 2014 and we employ around 40 staff across 7 regional offices.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Geo-Environmental Consultant in our Malvern office. The successful candidate will be someone with over 2 years’ experience in the ground investigation industry. Your main duties and responsibilities will be to assist with the design, procurement, supervision, management and reporting of geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments and site investigation including the completion of Agricultural Land Classifications and Soil Management Plans. This will include the production of desk study assessments, the accurate collection of site data and the production of detailed factual and interpretative reports as well as undertaking ground gas and groundwater monitoring works.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and attributes:

· Willing to work outside in various weather conditions and be physically able to perform field work such as hand digging, augering, lifting and moving equipment etc.

· Willing to travel across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.

· Demonstrable, recent experience (preferably 2 + years post graduation) of working in a similar role, including experience in the management of contaminated land projects.

· A degree in a relevant science subject (e.g. geology, environmental science, soil science) and a good working knowledge of contaminated land legislation.

· A full, valid driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

· Excellent communication and customer service skills.

· Experience of writing technical reports to a high standard.

· A good working knowledge of health and safety is essential. Relevant qualifications, such as SMSTS, would be beneficial.

In return we offer the following:

· 25 days holiday a year, plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell 5 days leave a year.

· Life assurance and a company pension scheme.

· Training and development and a progressive career structure.

· Professional membership fees.

· Call out fees and overtime payments.

· A health cash plan

· A company share scheme.

Our office is based near Malvern, Worcestershire and is commutable from much of Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Your time is likely to be split between office and site work throughout the UK so flexibility to travel and work away from home is important. There is also flexibility to work from home when site work is not required. Due to the nature of our work the successful candidate will need to complete a basic DBS check at the company’s expense.

Please apply with a covering letter, explaining how you fit the criteria for the role, and your CV. If you require further information about the role or OEE please see our website for contact details.

Please note that we do not have a sponsorship licence so applications from candidates who do not have the right to work in the UK will be automatically declined.
