Job Description

The Forest Environmental Planner at Quinault Indian Nation in Taholah, WA, oversees the implementation of the Forest Management Plan and collaborates with various agencies on forest lifecycle activities. Key responsibilities include supporting communication between departments, preparing timber sale packages, monitoring NEPA projects, and managing permits related to environmental regulations. JOB SUMMARY Oversees, develops, and ensures full implementation of the Quinault Indian Reservation (QIR) Forest Management Plan (FMP) and all affiliated documents (Environmental Assessment and Biological Opinion). Works with internal and external agencies to support the whole lifecycle of the forest from seed harvest, tree growing, reforestation, and timber harvest. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides support and communication between Environmental Protection and Forestry departments. Leads and coordinates interdisciplinary team to prepare timber sale packages. Monitors all National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) applicable projects and maintains formal documentation for projects related to NEPA. Leads, coordinates, and administers archeology contracts related to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
