How do you excel in this position
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the integration and commissioning of components and control systems within microgrid and BESS projects, ensuring that all elements are correctly configured and operational in both factory and field environments. This position plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical design and practical operation, ensuring the successful start-up and reliable functioning of complex energy systems. Responsibilities include programming and configuring control software, testing and validating control algorithms, managing start-up procedures, conducting thorough system checks, and optimizing performance through calibration. Additionally, the role involves providing technical support, ongoing maintenance, and system upgrades, as well as documenting processes and training local operators to ensure seamless operation and troubleshooting.
What are we looking for
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, renewable energy engineering, or a related field. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Five (5) years of experience in energy systems, with specific focus on microgrids, energy storage systems and renewable energy required.
• Experience in commissioning and system integration required.
• Proven track record in successfully starting up complex energy systems in field settings required.
• Proficiency in programming and configuring control systems for energy applications required.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, especially as they relate to energy storage and distribution required.
• strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their integration into microgrids required.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and safety regulations pertaining to microgrids and energy systems required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning and start-up phases required.
Additional skills preferred but not required
• Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in microgrid technology or control systems preferred.
