Job Description

The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking a Fellow - Sustainability to support their sustainability initiatives at PNC Park in Monaca, PA. The role involves collaborating with operations, evaluating programs, promoting green practices, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. Candidates should have a relevant degree and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence.

You will work closely with PNC Park Operations department, front office staff, and internal stakeholders to develop and execute strategies aimed at minimizing the environmental footprint of PNC Park while enhancing its overall sustainability performance.Responsibilities

Primary:

1) Collaborates with the Manager, Ballpark & Event Operations to define goals, track performance metrics and diversion rates.

2) Evaluate current programs and recommend or implement improvements on any program deficiencies.

3) Maintain working knowledge of best practices and industry trends to facilitate future sustainability initiatives.

4) Work with internal stakeholders and front office staff to ensure sustainability practices are being met for PNC Park.

5) Establish and manage relevant third-party relationships that help to enhance the overall sustainability goals and initiatives as designed for PNC Park.6) Compile and organize program updates, details, and schedules in a reportable format.

7) Promote green practices in housekeeping including the recycling program for PNC Park.

8) Compile, organize and interpret data as necessary to fulfill the above responsibilities.

9) Participate in Pittsburgh sustainability industry webinars & conferences; Pittsburgh 2030 District, CEO's for Sustainability, and Green Building Alliance.

Secondary:

1) Inspect the ballpark before games and special events to ensure correct set up of events.

2) Ability to work independently while maintaining all deadlines and critical date obligations.

3) Assist in the day-to-day responsibilities associated with janitorial activities in PNC Park.

Required:

1) Authorization to legally work in the United States

2) Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Sports Management or equivalent experience.

3) Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams).

Desired :

1) Understanding of Measurable or Energy Star portfolio manager.

2) Minimum 1 year working experience in an office setting, sustainability, project management.3) Prior experience working in sports and entertainment preferred.Physical Requirements
