FirstLight Power is seeking an Expert Engineer in Environmental Optimization and Water Resource Management for a remote role. The position involves optimizing energy production, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and supporting operational decision-making. Key responsibilities include providing strategic guidance on water allocation, reviewing environmental data, and preparing reports for stakeholders. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, bilingual proficiency in English and French, and over 5 years of experience.
Join a remote role as an experienced Engineer in Water Resource Management. Leverage your strategic oversight to optimize energy production and ensure regulatory compliance across environmental programs. In this essential position, you'll report to the Director of Asset Management and integrate compliance with water resource management and asset optimization.


Your expertise will support production forecasting, generation planning, and operational decision-making within the Canadian portfolio. Collaborating across departments, you will act as a liaison for public inquiries on environmental matters. Key Responsibilities:


Provide strategic guidance on water allocation and reservoir operationsReview environmental data and offer actionable recommendationsDevelop strategies to optimize energy productionPrepare reports for regulatory bodies and stakeholdersMonitor environmental regulations and assess operational impacts Requirements:Bilingual proficiency in English and FrenchBachelor’s degree in Engineering required5+ years of experience in compliance oversightTechnical knowledge of hydroelectric generation preferredStrong analytical and communication skills Maximize generation value while fostering environmental stewardship and regulatory adherence as a key player in sustainable energy practices.
