Job Description
Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre in Toronto is seeking a full-time Events Coordinator to manage fundraising events, support communications, and assist with fund development. Responsibilities include planning and executing events, liaising with vendors, managing volunteer opportunities, and developing communication strategies. Candidates should have a degree in Events Management or a related field and at least three years of experience.

Organizational Overview
Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (Boost CYAC) is a registered charity that provides a range of services to children, youth and families, who have experienced abuse or violence, within the City of Toronto. We provide individual, group, family and community services that include trauma counselling, advocacy and support services during child abuse investigations, court support and accompaniment services and abuse and violence prevention materials and training. Boost CYAC is accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation, an independent non-profit organization that offers accreditation specifically tailored to community-based health and social services across Canada.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Fund Development, Boost CYAC is seeking a full-time permanent Events Coordinator, to lead the implementation of the organization’s events, support the communications strategy and assist with fund development.
Responsibilities
Event Administration:
• Lead the planning, project management and execution of yearly fundraising events, with a particular focus on Boost CYAC’s Butterfly Ball, Jump for Boost & Toronto Polar Bear Dip.
• Work closely with fundraising committee members to ensure the seamless execution of events. Be the primary point of contact for events committees, lead meetings and ensure strong relationships with committee members.
• Liaise with vendors, project manage event setups and breakdowns and proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on event days.
• Work alongside the Director of Fund Development in the administration and maintenance of fundraising and donor management database.
• Coordinate and oversee volunteer opportunities for fundraising events.
Communications:
• Assist in the development and implementation of event communications strategies including media outreach & quarterly newsletters.
• Monitor and update website for event communications, as needed.
• Oversee social media channels and website, as it relates to event communications.
• Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies and materials for yearly fundraising events.
• Assist in the development of content strategy and content management for internal and external collaborators, including partner agencies as it relates to events.
• Coordinate translation of event materials with third parties, as required.
Qualifications
• An undergraduate degree or college diploma in Events Management, Event Planning and/or Marketing or related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in marketing and communications.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and event planning.
• Strong written, oral and new media communications including writing, editing, and formatting on different communication platforms.
• Demonstrated interest or knowledge in the field of communications for the children’s mental health and fundraising.
• The ability to work at several projects simultaneously and manage time according to established priorities with a results-oriented mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, volunteers and Board members to ensure organizational goals are met.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, and email marketing software. Knowledge of Donor Perfect considered an asset.
• Experience with website development/ re-development, administration and management.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media to create fresh and engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
• Ability to travel to and oversee in-person events in the Greater Toronto Area. Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.

Additional Information
Work Schedule
• Monday to Friday, thirty-five (35) hours per week.
• Evening and weekend hours as required.
