Environmental and NEPA Project Manager

Volkert Inc is seeking an experienced Environmental and NEPA Project Manager for their Birmingham, AL office. Candidates must have at least 5 years of NEPA planning experience and a degree in a related field. Responsibilities include preparing NEPA studies, managing projects, and leading public involvement efforts. We are currently searching for an experienced Environmental and NEPA Manager to support our Gulf located in Alabama.




To be considered for this position, applicants must have at minimum 5 years' experience in transportation/NEPA planning.



What you’ll be doing:

Prepare NEPA studies for federally funded projects, including Categorical Exclusions (CE), Environmental Assessments (EA), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) for various transportation project types and sizesCoordinate with internal project teamsPerform site visits for projects as requiredLead public involvement efforts for environmental projectsManage projects to achieve budget, schedule, and quality requirementsAssist in business development for environmental projectsWhat you need to have:

B.S. or M.S. in Planning, Environmental Science, or related field5+ years of experience in transportation/NEPA planning requiredGIS experience is a plusStrong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative team skills are requiredAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
