Job Description

Fulcrum Environmental Consulting is seeking an Environmental Technician in Yakima, WA, focused on hazardous materials, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene. Responsibilities include preparing reports, conducting field investigations, and maintaining equipment. Candidates typically hold a degree in a relevant field and must possess strong communication skills. Benefits include medical coverage, paid time off, and retirement plans. This is a full-time position with a pay range of $24.00 - $27.00 per hour.
Fulcrum Environmental Consulting is recruiting for an Environmental Technician, focuses on hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene to join our Yakima office. Project tasks include:
• Preparing investigation and inspection reports.
• Assisting with field investigations of the built environment, site environment, and work environment for hazardous including: asbestos, lead, PCBs, mold and bacteria, and other contaminants
• Conducting inspection and monitoring services of contractor's work
• Preparing accurate and succinct written reports, programs and documents
• Maintaining field equipment, air sampling pumps, field monitors, and other associated equipment

Typically staff have a Bachelor of Science, or Masters of Science, in Biology, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, Safety, or similar field.

You are expected to have:
• Strong verbal communication and writing skills
• Attention to detail, including field notes and project documentation
• Demonstrate ability to effectively coordinate projects with co-workers, subcontractors, general contractors, and clients
• Bring practical solutions to field challenges
• Flexible to work on a wide variety of projects, tasks and assignments, responding easily to changing priorities

Successful candidates will acquire the following certifications prior to joining or during their first year:
• AHERA accredited Building Inspector
• CPR and First Aid training.
• First Aid and CPR

Over time we expect that you will develop expertise and recognition as a firm and regional technical expert. As you progress, the complexity and difficulty of projects are expected to increase and your responsibilities for project decisions and leadership can increase as well. We will assist your development with in-house training, online course, and conference attendance.
