Magellan Aerospace Limited is seeking an Environmental Tech. 1 to operate and maintain wastewater and sewage treatment plants, conduct sampling, and perform waste audits. Candidates should have a post-secondary diploma in environmental studies and preferably experience in wastewater treatment. The position is based in Haley Station, ON, Canada and is not remote. Job Responsibilities:
• To operate the process wastewater treatment plant including sampling of effluent, influent, groundwater, and surface water
• Back up the landfill operator position including handling waster generated with the plant and maintaining the landfill site

Qualifications:
• 2 years post-secondary diploma in environmental studies

Job Responsibilities:
• Operate, maintain, and clean the wastewater treatment plant
• Operate and maintain the sewage treatment plant
• Perform settleability studies on waste streams
• Collect effluent samples as per Ontario Ministry of Environment (MOE) established protocol and prepare samples for shipment to the outside laboratory
• Calibrate flow monitors
• Keep records of sampling and flow monitoring per MOE requirements
• Perform waste audits within the plant to reduce waste
• Sample surface water and groundwater from the landfill site

Qualifications:
• Must be a graduate of a post-secondary environmental technician program as a minimum.
• Preference will be given to applicants having previous experience in wastewater treatment and holding a valid Ontario Ministry of Environment Level I or Level II wastewater treatment operator’s licence.
