Environmental Specialist (Water Quality Modelling and EIA)

SJ Group is seeking an Environmental Specialist (Water Quality Modelling and EIA) in Singapore. The role involves leading Metocean Studies, environmental impact assessments, and managing projects. Candidates need a relevant degree and at least four years of experience in EIA/EMMP or related fields. Proficiency in water modeling software and project management is preferred. Strong communication skills are essential, and business travel may be required.
Responsibilities:



Technical support leading as Project Manager for Metocean Studies, Water modeling and/ or monitoring, Environmental impact assessment (EIA) and Environmental management and monitoring plan (EMMP) projects.


Contributing to winning and leading environmental impact assessment projects and business growth in Singapore, SE Asia, and Asia (depending project opportunities) on technical aspects of one or more of the following: Coastal protection/ reclamation, Environmental Impact Assessment and Pollution Control Study. Ability to work on a combination of these services will be highly regarded.


Contributing to or conducting project presentations and client meetings with senior staff and Project Managers.


Business development support for current and prospective clients.


Comply with quality management on all work products.


Task budgeting and scheduling control.


Coordinating with stakeholders, sub-consultants and other disciplines, as necessary.


Business travels may be required.



Requirements:



Doctorate/ master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or other related disciplines (e.g., civil engineering and environmental engineering) OR Bachelor’s degree plus equivalent years of experience in the environmental field.


A minimum of four years of relevant experience in EIA/ EMMP, environmental planning or environmental management, water quality modeling, environmental engineering sector. Qualified applicants will be considered for senior positions.


More qualified applicants may be considered for more senior lead positions.


Candidates with graphic skills such as Delft3D, MIKE or other water models, and other softwares/ languages such as Python, CAD, GIS, Photoshop, will be highly regarded.


Candidates with proven project management ability will be highly regarded.


Fluent spoken and written English.


Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and presentation) are essential qualities to successfully work on our teams with diverse disciplines and cultures.
