Cherry County Hospital located in Valentine NE is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in supporting infection control standards and overall patient care within the facility.
Position SummaryThe Environmental Services Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas throughout Cherry County Hospital and Clinic in accordance with established procedures and healthcare regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize patient rooms, including daily cleaning and terminal cleaning following patient dischargePrepare labor and delivery rooms after use during scheduled housekeeping hoursPerform routine cleaning duties including mopping, waxing, dusting, and vacuuming floorsClean walls, windows, bathrooms, offices, and public areasRestock supplies in patient roomsFollow proper isolation and infection control procedures when cleaning designated areasIdentify and report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisorAssist other departments as needed and appropriateParticipate in required training, workshops, and educational programsMaintain strict confidentiality of patient, personnel, and organizational informationComply with all hospital policies, procedures, and corporate compliance standardsQualifications & SkillsAbility to follow instructions and established proceduresStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safetyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEffective interpersonal skills when interacting with staff and the publicDependable, adaptable, and able to manage tasks in a dynamic environmentPositive and professional attitudeKnowledge of and adherence to confidentiality standards, including HIPAA regulationsPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentProlonged standing and walking throughout the workdayFrequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion of upper extremitiesSafe operation of cleaning equipment and handling of cleaning materialsAbility to recognize and address safety hazards in the work environmentWork performed in a healthcare setting with standard environmental conditions Comprehensive Benefit Package:
