Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Environmental Risk Management Lead in Lexington, KY. This role involves leading project teams in human health and ecological risk assessments, managing projects, and developing remediation strategies for clients. About the Role

The Senior Risk Assessor will serve as a technical subject matter specialist and lead project teams serving a portfolio of well-established clients and projects in the public and private market sectors. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
Main Responsibilities
• Lead project teams in the completion of human health and ecological risk assessments consistent with federal and state standards.
• Develop and implement risk assessment and remediation strategies for clients.
• Manage risk assessment projects and tasks, including project implementation, QA/QC, project scheduling, and budget management.
• Maintain relationships with clients, agencies, subcontractors, or outside personnel.
Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, or related life science discipline or related field from an accredited curriculum.
• Minimum 8 years of related professional experience in environmental risk assessment.
• Strong vapor intrusion experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of and current knowledge of applicable CERCLA, RCRA, and state-led regulations and regulatory programs.
• Experience conducting risk assessments on emerging contaminants is preferred.
• Technical leadership and project management experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work within a team framework.
• Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform technical project tasks, etc.) are also prerequisites.
