We are seeking a motivated Project Geologist, Project Scientist, or Project Engineer with a strong background in environmental remediation to join our Technical Services Organization. This mid-career role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects, develop technical leadership skills, and grow into a Technical Lead role on small to moderately complex assignments. This position must report to the CAPE office in Honolulu, Hawaii.


Responsibilities

Provide support for project planning, field sampling, quality control oversight, design evaluations, data analysis, and reporting.
Develop technical plans and reports including sampling and analysis plans, quality control plans, and construction completion reports.
Schedule and oversee field activities such as soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling, drilling, subcontractor management, and remediation system operation.
Support proposal development, cost estimating, and preparation of regulatory submittals.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to CAPE’s technical quality standards and procedures.
Collaborate with project and senior management to deliver high-quality results that meet budget, schedule, and client expectations.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or environmental science; advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in environmental remediation. Experience working in Hawaii/Tropical Pacific preferred.
Certifications/Training:

Preferred: Licensed Engineer or Geologist in Training (E.I.T. or G.I.T.) or able to obtain Professional Registration within six months of hire
HAZWOPER 40‑hour training (and annual refresher).
Adult First Aid/CPR.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with satisfactory record.
U.S. citizenship required (due to federal contracting requirements).


Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Familiarity with federal environmental regulatory programs (CERCLA, RCRA).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry-standard tools (CAD, ArcGIS, modeling software).

Work Environment & Travel

Position requires up to 50% travel annually for project support.
Field conditions may involve exposure to varying weather, hazardous materials, and physical demands.

Salary
$80,000 - $102,000 commensurate with experience
