Job Description
Waverley Council is hiring an Environmental Health Officer in Bondi Junction, NSW. This permanent full-time role (35 hours/week) offers a salary of A$92,107–A$105,923 plus superannuation. The officer will conduct inspections and ensure compliance with health regulations. Applicants need a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health or equivalent and must be able to work independently. The Environmental Health Officer is responsible for delivering a range of environmental and public health services within Waverley Council to protect and enhance public safety, health and the environment to meet legislation obligations and the needs of our community. They will conduct routine inspections of regulatory premises (food businesses, beauty salons, etc.) and contribute to initiatives to improve public health programs.
To be successful you will have a Bachelor of Science – Environmental Health or equivalent and will have the ability to conduct complex investigations, including gathering evidence, collecting samples, use of environmental monitoring equipment, conducting interviews and preparing documentations. You will have the ability to multitask, work independently and achieve targets and timeframes.
