About the role:
As the Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Lead, you will ensure that environmental and employee health and safety standards are met across the organization. This role involves developing and implementing measures to protect the environment, conducting safety audits, investigating accidents, and training employees. By doing so, it supports Takeda's commitment to sustainability and safety. You will report into the Head, Environmental Compliance and Sustainability.
How you will contribute:
• Maintain environmental management oversight programs to ensure compliance of Takeda's facilities with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, as well as Takeda's internal policies
• Provide expertise, either on-site or remotely, to assist sites with the investigation and resolution of environmental incidents, environmental permit deviations, and environmental related audit findings
• Conduct effectiveness reviews of site environmental compliance programs and develop improvement plans in collaboration with site and global teams
• Oversee Takeda's hazardous waste disposal and treatment site evaluation and approval program
• Develop and implement sustainability initiatives that support waste reduction, water conservation and biodiversity, as well as other nature-related commitments and opportunities
• Collaborate with, and/or lead, cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to integrate best environmental and sustainability management practices company-wide
• Monitor and assess emerging regulatory developments impacting Takeda operations
• Provide guidance and training on environmental compliance, technical standards and sustainability practices to site and global teams
• Stay current with global environmental regulations and technologies to ensure proactive compliance and create new technical standards, guidance documentation and training materials as necessary
• Represent Takeda in external forums as appropriate, sharing best practices and advocating for the company's environmental policies and initiatives
• Support environmental and sustainability performance reporting for internal & external communications (e.g., Takeda's Annual Integrated Report, CDP, etc.).
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Environmental Science is preferred (other science-related degrees will be considered). Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years experience of facility or corporate experience in this field and 2+ years experience in the pharmaceutical and/or chemical industries in manufacturing/R&D environments
• Solid understanding of environment regulations and management systems
• Multi-lingual capability (English plus at least one other language) is considered a plus

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$133,000.00 - $209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
