Environmental - Project Scientist

BL Companies’ growth offers the opportunity for a Project Scientist with 3-5 years of experience in our Environmental group. This role includes due diligence and site assessment projects and involves a mix of field and office work supporting private and public sector clients in NJ and across the country.

The position offers an opportunity for travel, exposure to diverse projects, and ample opportunities for professional growth and career development.

The selected individual must be ready to take on challenging projects in a collaborative, fast paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct and oversee due diligence investigations, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Preliminary Assessments, and Phase II Investigations
• Field sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil-gas
• Ability to understand project scope, coordination and execution of field activities
• Tabulation and understanding of generated environmental data

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology or related education
• 3-5 years of experience conducting environmental due diligence and investigation projects
• General knowledge of NJDEP Rules, Regulations and Guidance documents
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Strong technical writing skills for due diligence reports and environmental assessments
• Ability to carry equipment (20-30 lbs) in challenging field conditions
• Overnight travel required to support national clients
