EHS Manager

Location: Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, South Carolina Area

Position Overview

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, promote a culture of safety, and minimize risks in a manufacturing environment. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and permits as required.
• Conduct audits and inspections to identify and address compliance gaps.
• Safety Program Management
• Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety programs and policies.
• Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses for manufacturing processes.
• Training and Awareness
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
• Promote a culture of safety through engagement, education, and leadership.
• Environmental Management
• Manage waste, water, and air emissions programs to meet environmental standards.
• Drive initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of operations.
• Monitor environmental metrics and implement sustainability strategies.
• Health and Wellness
• Implement occupational health programs, including ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and wellness initiatives.
• Partner with Human Resources to address employee health concerns and accommodate return-to-work cases.
• Reporting and Metrics
• Track and analyze EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Prepare regular reports for leadership, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and future plans.

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), or similar certifications preferred.
