Job Description
TerraForm Power is seeking a full-time Wind Engineer to optimize wind facilities, reporting to the Manager of Wind Engineering. The role involves planning engineering activities, managing projects, and collaborating with teams and contractors to enhance asset performance. Candidates should have a background in technology design, operations, or maintenance, preferably in the renewable energy sector. The position is remote and offers opportunities for growth and development in a supportive environment.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Wind Engineering, the incumbent will plan and organize engineering activities to optimize Wind facilities. This role is best positioned as a hybrid operations and repower-focused engineering role supporting the performance, reliability, and optimization of wind assets. It requires a strong foundation in and understanding of technology design, field operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting methodologies, combined with the ability to manage engineering initiatives and projects focused on improving asset performance and reducing both risk and operational costs.
While direct wind experience is preferred, we are open to candidates from adjacent industries (eg, other power generation) who bring strong technology design, Independent Engineering or operations and maintenance experience, particularly those who have worked directly with field-based operations teams, supporting equipment reliability, maintenance programs, and cross-functional coordination.
Responsibilities
Supporting optimizing strategies for operating facilities and support repowerCoordinate with internal teams and third-party engineering firms for special projects.Participate in development of RFP’s, specifications and drawings, proposal review and contract award, tendering phase, quality assurance and finalization.Support with contract administration to ensure compliance with permits, policies and codes.Act as an engineering project manager for projects assigned.Assist in capital and maintenance budget preparation and prioritize, plan and schedule of work budgeted.Support with development, revision and quality control of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs, policies and procedures.Review the preventive and corrective maintenance reports to ensure compliance and identify issues.Assist self-perform teams in troubleshooting and repair, and equipment selection of solar equipment.Propose improvements and evaluate new technologies to minimize operating costs, risk and potential losses and maximize potential generation.Perform site audits and work with contractors and self-perform teams to improve the health of the sites.Demonstrate a strong alignment with corporate values, including health, safety, security and environmental policy.
Requirements
Ability to climb wind turbines.Excellent inter personnel and facilitation skills.Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and to manage multiple concurrent projects.Strong verbal and written communication skills and planning, prioritizing and organizing abilities.Proficient with Microsoft applications.A strong personal commitment to continuous improvement.Values excellence in safety and environmentalTravel Expectation: 15-35%
Qualifications
BS Degree in Engineering or related field, Mechanical preferred3+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in Wind Operations & Maintenance, Development or ConstructionFamiliarity with applicable OSHA standardsHaving GWO BST/ART certification is a plus
Compensation: $115,000-130,000 USD, bonus eligible
