Gotion Inc. is seeking an Energy Storage System (ESS) Operator for its 1st Shift in Manteno, IL. The role involves assembling, operating, and troubleshooting energy storage systems, requiring basic electrical knowledge and adherence to safety standards. Position Summary
The Energy Storage System (ESS) Operator is responsible for supporting the assembly, operation, and basic troubleshooting of energy storage systems. This role requires foundational electrical knowledge, the ability to follow assembly procedures, and a strong commitment to quality and workplace organization.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the assembly and operation of energy storage systems and related components Read and interpret basic mechanical and electrical drawings to support system build and troubleshooting Safely use common hand tools and assembly equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures Perform routine inspections and self-checks to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, issues identified, and corrective actions taken Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures at all times Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area following 5S principles Support continuous improvement initiatives and team-based problem-solving
Technical Skills
Required Skills & Qualifications
Basic understanding of electrical components (e.g., wiring, connectors, circuits) Ability to read and follow simple electrical and mechanical drawings Familiarity with basic assembly processes and tools
Assembly & Quality Skills
Proficient in using standard hand and power tools Strong attention to detail with effective self-inspection habits Ability to follow work instructions and standardized procedures
Workplace Organization (5S)
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly workstation Understanding of 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) Ability to consistently apply organization and efficiency practices
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in manufacturing, battery systems, or electrical assembly Exposure to renewable energy or energy storage systems Basic troubleshooting or diagnostic experience
Soft Skills
Strong work ethic and reliability Team-oriented with good communication skills Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment Safety-conscious mindset
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.
Expected Pay Range
$24 - $24 USD
