Job Description
CBRE is seeking an E&S Analyst in Chicago, IL, to support environmental processes for the client's Greenhouse Gas Inventory. The role requires knowledge of carbon accounting, data management, and ESG reporting. Responsibilities include data collection, quality control, and maintaining GHG inventory processes. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Envizi software. Salary ranges from $75K to $90K.
About the Role:
As a CBRE Energy and Sustainability Analyst, you will support environmental processes and controls needed for the client's Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
This position requires a sustainability professional with a general understanding of carbon accounting protocols and carbon emissions, a passion for environmental processes and controls, and an ability to manage large and complex data sets (primarily utility data). Ideal candidates will possess an acute attention to detail and proactively manage issues. Experience with ESG reporting frameworks and Envizi software is a plus.
What You'll Do:
• Conduct data collection to acquire primary data for Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emission categories.
• Maintain and improve environmental processes and controls to ensure integrity and accuracy of data.
• Maintain and improve processes for data collection, aggregation, validation and reporting.
• Perform regular data quality control and validation checks utilizing Envizi software.
• Engage with internal and external auditors for client's GHG inventory third-party verification.
• Maintain the client's GHG Inventory Management Plan to reflect current data sources and methodologies.
• Manage shifting priorities and scope.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
• Explain complex information to others in a straightforward and concise manner.
What You'll Need:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. CEM and/or AEE CAP preferred.
• Understanding of GHG accounting procedures and standards to solve complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• A proactive, self-starter work style
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Envise software knowledge preferred
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a
candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is
$75K per year and the maximum salary for the position is
or $90K per year. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate
will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also
be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
