Job Description

Reliance Industries Limited is seeking a Drilling Engineer for clean energy projects in Amravati, Maharashtra. The role involves planning and executing drilling programs, ensuring safety and cost efficiency, and coordinating with contractors. Candidates should have a degree in engineering and 3-8 years of relevant experience. The position requires travel to project sites and is not remote.

Job Purpose
Support the planning and execution of drilling programs for clean energy–linked wells, ensuring sound well design, safe operations, cost efficiency, effective contractor coordination, and continuous improvement in drilling performance.


Key Responsibilities
Support the preparation, review, and execution of drilling programs by validating engineering calculations, design assumptions, and risk mitigation measures.Embed offset well learnings into drilling plans and support technical reviews and risk assessment workshops to ensure execution readiness.Monitor drilling operations, key parameters, and performance against the plan to analyze deviations and support corrective actions.Coordinate with drilling contractors and service providers to ensure alignment with program objectives, quality standards, and safety requirements.Support incident investigations, ensure adherence to SOPs, and assist in implementing lessons learned.Prepare daily and weekly drilling reports, cost trackers, and performance summaries, ensuring data accuracy and timely escalation of deviations.Contribute to operational efficiency, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and post-well reviews.Support team capability development through knowledge sharing, documentation of best practices, and participation in structured learning initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:


Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.3–8 years of experience in drilling engineering and drilling operations.Working knowledge of well planning, drilling, casing and cementing, drilling fluids, and rig systems.Understanding of HSE requirements, well integrity principles, and regulatory compliance.Experience coordinating with drilling contractors and service providers in field environments.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills, with attention to detail.Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Willingness to travel to project and operating sites as per business requirements, with flexibility for relocation if needed.
