Job Description
Meyer Utility Structures is seeking a Director of Information Technology for its Memphis, TN office. This role involves overseeing all IT activities within the manufacturing organization, ensuring system continuity, managing IT governance and security, and collaborating with Corporate IT. Responsibilities include budget development, project management, and team leadership across multiple manufacturing plants in the US and Mexico.
Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, seeks an experienced Director of Information Technology for our corporate office in Memphis, TN. The Director of Information Technology will plan and direct all IT-related activities of the manufacturing organization, including both applications and infrastructure, in partnership with Corporate IT, external vendors and technical suppliers. This leader will ensure continuity of operations of systems and software programs throughout the business unit through planning, technical leadership and project coordination. Scope includes the corporate office in Memphis, TN, six manufacturing plants in the US and two manufacturing plants in Mexico.
Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.
What You’ll Do:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Meyer organization for all IT related topics, both within the business unit and with Corporate IT
• Ensure Meyer conforms to established IT governance and information security policies including the introduction of any new technologies into the organization
• Working with Corporate IT, maintain the status of all key infrastructure components including servers, storage/DB, networking, user PC as well as the up-to-date inventory of all business applications in use
• Develop and maintain an inventory of planned and in-flight projects
• Develop the IT portion of Meyer’s annual budget, including both expense and capital investments
• In collaboration with Corporate IT, assist in the development of the strategic, multi-year technology roadmaps
• Serve as the leader for the Meyer IT team, guiding their activities and professional development
• Develop an understanding of and employe the established IT solution development frameworks and methodologies and ensure compliance with the same
• Oversee the current applications portfolio to ensure all applications are kept up-to-date and necessary outages are coordinated between Corporate IT and the business users
• Manage the engineering platform to ensure that all updates are installed and the operating system is current based on business requirements
• Serve as a training and knowledge resource for management and field personnel on technical issues, assist with equipment deployment for new hires and ensure employees have the systems and tools to be successful
• Serve as the liaison between the ERP software provider and business processes including troubleshooting software and procedural issues, system modifications and ERP system upgrades
• Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with business colleagues including functional technical leaders, the Corporate IT organization and 3rd party outsourcing service; establish and maintain relationships with contractors and equipment suppliers
• Prepare long- and short-range plans for application selection, systems development and acquisition of the resources needed to support them.
• Maintain current in emerging industry and process best practices and technology
What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred
• Minimum of 15+ years related experience required
• Solid ITIL knowledge (incident, problem, change, request and CMDB)
• Experience in manufacturing and engineering systems required
• Must have experience with ERP/ MRP, inventory management systems, engineering platforms and advanced planning software programs
• Applications development experience including analytics solutions
• Infrastructure technologies experience (servers, networking, databases, end-user devices)
• Business Process design experience
• Must have experience developing application technology roadmaps
• Knowledge of Salesforce, Infor, SolidWorks, Fortran, SQL and C++
• Advanced project management skills (PMP desired); ability to quantify project resource requirements
• Demonstrated cross functional teamwork and collaboration experience
• Effective verbal and written communication/presentation skills with the ability to persuade and influence others
• Ability to measure and communicate proposed project benefits with specific experience building and presenting business cases
• Ability to travel in the US and MEX up to 25%
