Director of Environmental Services

Fairhaven Senior Services is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to oversee cleanliness and sanitation at their retirement facility in Whitewater, WI. The role includes managing the Housekeeping and Laundry departments, developing cleaning protocols, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Summary

As the Director of Environmental Services at Fairhaven Senior Services, you will oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of our facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our residents. This role is vital in maintaining our high standards of care and comfort within our senior living community. Director will oversee the Housekeeping and Laundry departments within facility. Ability to interact with residents/families and their needs and desires is important. Organization and effective communication skills are mandatory for this position. Must have 3 to 5 years of management experience in other job settings.

Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Environmental Services team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility.
• Ability to interview, hire, schedule, discipline, and complete reviews on staff.
• Develop and implement cleaning protocols that comply with health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to assess cleanliness levels and identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure that environmental service needs are met effectively.
• Train staff on best practices in custodial services and proper use of cleaning equipment and materials.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability while adhering to budget constraints.
• Respond promptly to any sanitation-related concerns from residents or staff.
• Foster a culture of safety and respect within the Environmental Services team.
• Direct contact with all admitting and discharging residents and families.
• Facilitates apartment renovations and apartment terminations.
• Ability to work with outside Vendors and Community Organizations.
• Chairperson to facilities Emergency Preparedness Program/Safety Committee.

Qualifications
• Proven experience in environmental services management or a related field, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning protocols, sanitation practices, and OSHA regulations.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff at all levels as well as residents and their families.
• Experience in custodial services or commercial cleaning is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques is beneficial.
