Job Description

Veritas Partners is seeking a Construction Project Engineer (Renewable Energy) in Frederick, MD, with at least 4 years of project engineering experience, preferably in renewable energy. Responsibilities include analyzing energy-efficient systems, documenting energy performance, and preparing engineering designs and specifications. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering is required, with certifications like PE or LEED being a plus. The position is full-time and not remote.
Qualifications:
Ideally seeking at least 4+ years of relevant working experience within project engineering/project developmentPrior working exposure within renewable energy field is highly preferred (including experience with power, energy, renewables, building simulation programs and methodologies, lighting retrofits, and energy conservation)Bachelors Degree required. Mechanical or Electrical engineering majors highly preferredeQuest software experience is a plusPE, LEED, CEM or EIT certifications are a plus but not required. They will help fund the incumbent candidate's pursuit of prior mentioned certifications.ESCO and/or Design Build experience is a major plusPrior working experience with federal construction projects is highly preferredKnowledge of U.S. commercial and Government standards, regulations and codes will be beneficial
Responsibilities:
Project Development Engineer will conduct analyses and modeling of energy efficient systems in commercial, institutional, and industrial end-use applications addressing power, energy, lighting, renewables, building envelope, and control systems to determine the pre-condition energy usage and recommended post-condition energy efficient system modifications.Assess existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and document energy performance information, including utility data and facility infrastructure drawingsIdentify opportunities for energy conservation or efficiency, prepare energy savings calculations, and perform engineering assessments including baseline profiles, end-use and retrofit analysisAnalyze and prepare conceptual and detailed engineering design and bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for energy efficient building technology and system measures;
