Compost Site Operator

Material Change Limited is seeking a Compost Site Operator for their Helmdon facility. Responsibilities include operating machinery, assisting with waste transfer, performing daily checks, and supporting site operations. Candidates should have mobile plant experience, good health and safety awareness, and the ability to work independently. The position is full-time with a salary of £28,000 to £32,000 per year. Training and PPE will be provided.
Material Change Limited has over 18 years’ experience in recycling organic waste. With 6 compost sites across the Midlands and East of England we provide quality assured Compost, Mulch and Bark to landscapers, Gardeners and Local Authorities. We produce agricultural grade compost for farmers and manage 8 anaerobic digestion plants across the UK. A position has become available at our Helmdon Compost facility for a Compost Site Operator . As part of the role, you will be required to operate loading shovel, telehandler and 360 and shred, screen and windrow green waste material. You will also assist in the waste transfer shed loading out material and will be required to assist with site daily checks, plant and machinery daily maintenance, carry out odour monitoring off site and assist with all general site operations, weighbridge cover and yard duties. As well as providing occasional support to our adjoining AD plant. Mobile plant experience essential (although training on some of the above machines can be provided where you do not have experience of all of them). Composting experience is an advantage but not essential. Training and PPE will be provided. Requirements : Experience - Loading Shovel / Telescopic Handler Good Awareness of Health and Safety Ability to work alone and be self-motivated Good time keeping Accurate record keeping Hours of work: 07:00 am to 17:00 pm Monday to Friday plus every other Saturday morning 07:00 till 13:00.
